Seiko TMI VH31 Sweep Seconds Quartz Movement

The Seiko TMI VH31 is a Japanese quartz movement designed to offer quartz accuracy and reliability with a much smoother seconds-hand motion than a conventional one-tick-per-second quartz movement.

Operating at 4 beats per second, the central seconds hand advances four times each second, producing a smooth sweeping appearance reminiscent of a mechanical watch while retaining the convenience, accuracy and low maintenance of quartz.

The VH31 is a true no-date, three-hand movement, making it particularly suitable for clean dial designs, field watches, pilot watches and custom builds.

For watch modding and custom builds, the VH31 can also be installed in many cases originally designed around the Seiko NH movement family when used with a suitable VH31-to-NH movement holder/spacer.

Ideal for builders who want the appearance of a sweeping seconds hand without the cost, thickness or servicing requirements of an automatic movement.
